Parenting Pillar:

Our Parenting Pillar is all about learning from one another and building a strong community of support. We believe that parents grow best together, which is why this part of the program focuses on peer-to-peer learning—sharing real experiences, challenges, and wins.

As an organization, we also have access to trusted resources on topics like child development, emotional wellness, nutrition, and more. As needs come up, we’ll guide you toward the right tools and support for you and your family.

Introduction to Building Your Blueprint

Your journey starts with onboarding and a retreat. This is your chance to get familiar with the program, learn how to use your workbook, and most importantly—start building real connections with other parents walking a similar path. You’re not in this alone, and this first step sets the tone for the growth, support, and community you’ll experience throughout the journey.

Section 1: The Road to Financial Wellness

Explore your relationship with money and learn foundational tools to take control of your finances. This section focuses on budgeting, financial habits, and understanding support systems available to you.

Section 2: Your Financial GPS: Finding the Route to Saving and Investing Success

You'll take a closer look at your personal relationship with money. We’ll help you build a strong financial foundation by giving you tools to manage your budget, develop healthier money habits, and understand the resources that are here to support you and your family.

Section 3: Building Your Career Roadmap (Working Title: Path to Purpose)

Now it’s time to focus on you and your career journey. In this section, you’ll explore your strengths, build confidence, and start planning for job opportunities that fit your goals and lifestyle. Whether you’re thinking about a new job, starting a business, or just figuring out your next step, you’ll get support, tools, and real-world guidance from professionals who understand the journey.

Section 4: Finalizing Your Blueprint

You’ve done the work, now it’s time to bring it all together. In this final part of your journey, you’ll reflect on how far you’ve come, celebrate the progress you’ve made, and get ready to put your personal Blueprint into action. This is where your hard work starts to pay off—in real, everyday ways for you and your family.

Our Program

The Upton Program is a 6-month financial literacy program for young parents ages 18-25. The goal of this program is to strengthen parents’ knowledge and access to building wealth by providing them with a renewed understanding, essential skills, and a clear plan to achieve financial stability for their families. Young parents throughout the Twin Cities meet twice a week for four hours total per week. TUP’s curriculum includes topics such as budgeting, investing, how to teach children about money, managing debt, resume writing, and job hunting. Parent participants can achieve real life application with what they learned throughout their time in the program and work towards their short term and long term financial and career goals. TUP also supports parents in eliminating barriers to access the program by providing transportation support, childcare at and a meal during program time.
